25 Office Party Games to Add Fun To Your Meetings

Published April 22, 2022
Make office meetings more exciting for employees — and keep them engaged throughout the session — by starting it off with office party games. These 25 party game ideas will have everyone thinking while promoting teamwork and a positive work environment.
1. Win, Lose, or Draw
Create a list of objects or items for participants to draw, like a phrase, a celebrity, or something unique to your company. Then, form two teams and have one team member go to the board and draw the identical object. Whichever team makes the first correct guess wins.
2. Work People Bingo
Make a bingo card by filling each box with characteristics unique to an employee — for example, someone who always sings, someone who wears colorful ties, etc.
3. Office Charades
On small pieces of paper, the team leader writes out scenarios of events in the office. Then, participants quietly act them out and have their teammates guess — for instance, brewing coffee or experiencing a computer crash.
4. Scavenger Hunt
Make two groups of the participants, each with a list of items they must find. They’ll photograph everything in the list, and the team that returns first with a completed list wins.
5. Speed Meeting
Have participating employees rotate around the meeting room, requiring them to spend particular time chatting with someone they got paired up with.
6. Laugh Out Loud
Let participants take rounds saying hoo, hee, and ha — each time getting louder than the last. Laughs will follow.
7. Two Lies and One Truth
Each participant should write two facts and one lie about themselves. Then ask participants to guess which one is which.
8. Name That Tune Trivia
Form teams and compete in a quick round of musical trivia. Choose songs from various genres and periods to ensure that everyone on the team gets a chance to answer.
9. Cup Stack Relay
Get some red cups and compete to see who gets to stack the most red cups in the shortest amount of time or who can match the stacks to a particular design.
10. Reactionary
Similar to “Win, Lose, or Draw,” except that instead of drawing, you must act out the reaction to an event or other work-related topic.

11. Phrasal Template Word Game
Fill in the blanks to create your narrative. You may use a phrasal template word game as a guide. However, make sure that the story is appropriate to the office.
12. Storytime
As a team, write a story. Each player writes one sentence and then passes it on to the next. The objective is to create a bedtime story about the office.
13. Make a Mummy
Use toilet paper to turn a colleague into a mummy, and the team that wraps their mummy the fastest wins.
14. Song Sung Blue
Divide into pairs and assign a word or theme to each team. Then, teams must write songs with that particular word or theme in the lyrics. For example, if you choose colors as your category, “She Wore a Yellow Ribbon” would count.
15. The Newlywed Game
Divide into pairs and do an office version of this game, checking partners’ knowledge of one another. Using these work party games, find out how well your coworkers know each other.
16. Musical Chairs
You can play some upbeat music and get everyone moving before they are stuck to their chairs for the duration of the meeting.
17. Hot Potato
Bring back this classic children’s game with a twist. Whoever gets the hot potato must share something about them that no one else is aware of.
18. Re-imagining the Company Slogan
Provide employees with a stack of magazines and ask them to think of a new company slogan in five minutes using just words from the magazines.
19. Office Snowball Fight
Provide your employees with paper, instruct them to crumple it, and give them permission to throw the crumpled paper balls at one another. They will get a lot of laughter and energy in the process.
20. Chain Reaction
One player guesses, while three other players (or how many players there are) use only one word to get their teammate to identify the selected word.
21. That’s My Line
The group should be divided into small teams. Make a list of popular movie lines and let each team take turns to guess which film the line is from. The team that makes the most right guesses is the winner.
22. Improv
Divide the participants into two equal teams. Distribute six completely random objects to each team. Each team should be provided with an identical set of items. Tell them to create a short skit using the objects provided.
23. 20 Questions
The game’s leader picks a person or object, and players have only twenty “yes” or “no” questions to guess the answer.
24. A Minute to Win It
On a paper, write down random subjects. It could be something as broad as “music” or as specific as “Michael Jackson.” Place the folded papers inside a container and allow each participant to select one. Tell them to speak about the subject for precisely one minute.
25. People, Place, and Thing
Each participant chooses one topic from each category and writes it on a sheet of paper. Then have them give it to their neighbor, who must make a short story with each topic.
Laughter For Better Teamwork
Laughter is a great way to build teamwork and boost productivity in the workplace. Following these fun office party games, everyone will be in a great frame of mind and ready to get down to business.
